There is only 35 days left to e-file if you filed an extension for your 2011 tax return. This means that after October 15, your return will be officially considered late. So, I think you've procrastinated enough, get it done this week!
For the last couple of weeks, I've been emailing my clients who need to complete their returns. Predictably, they say they will send in all their info, but often I still have to chase them for another week or two. Sometimes longer. But that's OK, I don't mind. I enjoy taxes so much, I will wait patiently until you decide you are ready. I understand most people don't actually like to file their tax returns.
So, if you are still waiting to file, just keep in mind that after October 15 you may be subject to a late filing fee. Additionally, if you owe taxes and didn't pay with your extension request you will be subject to interest and penalties. It really is just safer, simpler and cheaper to file on time.
Call me, text me, email me, FB me or tweet me and lets get this done!
